From a trekking in the Mauritanian Adrar region to the admiration of the salt winning in the Ethiopian Danakil depression, the author came across people who were on the move in dunes, on sandy plains or over pebbly ground. Some photographic impressions from Algeria, Chad, Ethiopia, Libya and Mauritania are shown in the gallery.
N.B.: Although salt winning in the Danakil depression takes place in the area of the nomadic Afar, this business is operated by Ethiopian migrant labour.
